Salt and Light

Salt and light are two metaphors that illustrate disciples’ impact on the world. We have used salt for thousands of years as a preservative. Light shows us where to step, what to avoid, and where we should fix our aim. When we integrate the beatitudes, we become the salt of the earth and the light of the world.
